Day #2

Read James 1:5-8
Now, try reading the above verses one more time.  Sometimes reading things more than once helps you focus and retain.  Remember what we learned yesterday about trials?  Well, what if you are not sure how to handle hard situations in a Christ focused way?  What does the Bible say we are supposed to do?

Wisdom on how to handle the hard stuff only comes from God!  You certainly won’t know how to face tough situations on your own, but by spending time with Him DAILY. And it won’t matter how many times you ask for His help, he will never put you down.  But, when you ask, take PHYSICAL ACTION!!  Get up and go to the Bible for your answers.  Not sure where to go in the Bible, ask someone for help.   You are always welcome to call me at any time.

Read James 1:5-8 again.  Say out loud, in your own words, what it tells you.

As you continue in your walk with God by spending time reading about Him and living out what you read, you will find that His character is revealed all throughout scripture.  The Bible is truly a love letter from Him to us.  Humans will let us down.  He is the only one we can have total trust and confidence in.  When you step away from studying him daily, you are actually stepping toward trusting in yourself and what you can do.  And in case you haven’t noticed, we can screw things up pretty good on our own.  Moving back and forth between spending time with Him and not, reading the Bible daily and not, you are becoming like a wave in the sea.  You are unstable and uncertain and it will come out in the way you handle tough moments.  Trust this… stay in contact!!  He is your life source!!

  1. When I am worried about something, especially something not within my control, I should ask for God's help, and put the burden at the foot of the cross. After doing so, I can't be worried anymore if I truly believe that God is here for me.
